About Jayne
I grew up in country Queensland and moved to Kingscliff in 2001. Some people might know me as a professional singer, a trivia host or a hospitality worker. I have vast work experience across several sectors and enjoy the challenges of learning and growing my knowledge and skills.
I have several qualifications including a Hospitality Diploma, Certificate III in Aged Care and Certificate III in Disability. I have completed MOOC online studies through the University of Tasmania in Preventing Dementia, Understanding Traumatic Brain Injury, & Motor Neurone Disease. I am currently studying online with the Parkinson’s Foundation, Your Interprofessional Care Team Approach to Cognitive Changes, Communicating Your 5 Parkinson’s Care Needs, and Ambiguous Loss.
And, by the time you are reading this, I may very well have begun new learning to educate myself on another condition to specifically assist someone, and in doing so, provide better support.
I understand that trying to get assistance can be both frustrating and sometimes fraught with difficulty. No-one wants complicated talk. We all just want plain English.
Having transitioned from family carer and co-ordinator to full-time aged care and NDIS support worker, I now find myself launching a new company based in my community of Kingscliff NSW. The company might be new, but the hands-on experience is extensive and the knowledge base continually growing.
I plan to grow Australia in Care organically and ethically, prioritising people first and making a difference, one person at a time. Everyone deserves to live their best life and to have the freedom and support to shine in their own light, every single day.
